The real question is why this insane threat is not the major news story at the NYT, WaPo, CNN, NPR. etc? WTF, a presidential candidate is explicitly threatening to jail all his political opponents, oh yeah, better report on Harris' debate prep.

Not a single word about Trump's epic, explicit, written threat to investigate & lock up his opponents under the false pretext of election cheating. Readers of the NYT simply are not being told what the stakes of the election are.

As a young girl visiting my grandparents in India, my grandfather took me on his morning walks, where he would discuss the importance of fighting for equality and fighting corruption. He was a retired civil servant who had been part of the movement to win India’s independence.

There is little media coverage of the fact that the indicted former President is threatening election officials nationwide. In PA, and in Montgomery County, we will protect the right to vote — and we will not be intimidated.

Tragic--and I say that as a historian of authoritarianism familiar with the costs of such silences.
