Been struggling with a thought. Which is better? James Hetfield’s left hand. James Hetfield’s right hand. This has genuinely challenged me.

By no means is Steven Spielberg underrated… I mean he’s basically movie God… but I can’t help but feel like he still manages to be under appreciated. I shouldn’t be able to go 5 minutes without hearing about this movie.

Adore this movie. Genuinely one of my favourites this century. Cruise is ridiculous here obviously, but the camera man reminds me of this quote… "Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, except backwards and in high heels"

This is such a shame. We played Ironworks a couple of times, at least. A great venue run by good people. Losing important venues and community cultural hubs to make way for U.S-based multinational hotel chains 👎

This is kind of cheating, but I edited Tim Burton's Batman (1989) into a silent film and I rewatch it so often. One of my favorite creative exercises I've ever done, speaks to Burton's visual genius that the film still works so well without sound.

There are hundreds of people in rugby who are admired, respected, and liked. But I struggle to think of another as universally loved as Doddie. Rest in Peace.

I interviewed Kiefer Sutherland for Total Film recently. He said two days had been put aside to get Nicholson’s speech. Jack nailed it first take. Reiner did another, to be sure. Jack nailed it again. Wasn’t even lunchtime. Reiner gave everyone the afternoon and the next day off

Hey Nintendo UK my 8 year old daughter has some feedback. She wrote this without our input, loves Nintendo/ Mario but clearly feels strongly about her opinion on your characters and story lines. I’ll copy text below to help you read!

The great thing about rewatching ‘90s Hollywood dramas is they’re nearly always better than you remember, largely because studios rarely make them anymore, and also because they’re all shot on film. Tonight’s example: Cop Land. This rule also applies to ‘90s action movies

[Thread] I’ve noticed something odd happening in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. True, there’s plenty of odd things going on in The Shining, but this is really weird. 🧵 1/50
