Prof Paul Neeson's lab from Peter Mac Research have made advances in CAR T-cell therapy which is showing great promise in solid tumours. Published today in Sci Trans Med pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37018415/ This new innovation uses younger, stem-like T-cells rather than conventional T-cells.

The first cancer immunology program seminar for the year (hosted by Dr Criselle DSouza) kicked off with a great presentation from Dr Anthony Buzzai about his work on CD4+ T cells controlling immune evasive tumours. Anthony will be speaking around Aus before returning to Magdeburg

Well done to Neeson Lab member Dr Ryan McMahon for being awarded the George Hodgson Memorial Lorne Cancer Conference Award 2024. This is awarded to early-stage researchers and is a great recognition for the work Ryan has done in combined radiation and ICI.
