Y'all this first week back was rough. Student schedules weee still being changed, some classrooms are over packed & some few. They changed the schedule and lunches. We have an early out day for kids but must be in PLC the entire time and we don't get credit for it.

Best thing happened in my rowdy class. I was explaining something and as I'm talking someone let's go of a soccer ball. It heads towards me and I smoothly stop it under my foot. Class went nuts! They thought it was the coolest thing ever. Does this mean I'm cool now?

Wow, today was so shitty. Very much a Monday. 😩

So they changed student schedules for one of my classes (big time). But the kids came and told me bye, hugged me, said they liked me and that they were gonna miss me.😢 I didn't think after three weeks that it would be a big deal but it hurt my heart. I really liked them.

Had PTC and the guardian of one of my students is a student I had my first year! It's crazy how time passes. It made me feel old. But I was glad to see her and know that she's doing well.

Anyone use standards based grading with the proficiency scales from Marzano? If so, any pointers or cheat sheets?

Y'all we just got a new textbook and bc we got top 10 in the state. Our principal doesn't want us to use it! She wants us to use what we created last year! Then WHY adopt a new textbook!!! WTF!!!!!!

Y'all!!! Next year everyone in my district will have to clock in and out! Whaaat?! Why don't they deal with the problem ppl instead of making the rest of us suffer? Fine, but I want to get paid extra for staying late.

Ummm... The teacher next door was shot in the arm by a BB gun! WTF!!!! She didn't know what it was at first. She only knew it hurt her arm. Then later found the gun under a desk! What is wrong with these kids?!

Day 2 back and kids already acting up. Is it me or is it a rough start back after winter break?

Best student comment this week : I cut my hair in a short bob and a boy who hadn't seen it down says... Boy : Ms. I like your new hair. Me: Thank you. Boy : Yeah, you look like Velma! Me: Thank you???😂😂 😂😂 I don't even have bangs!

So all these reports of "UFOs" being shut down and I am unbothered because my middle schoolers are scarier. And this week good luck to all. We have a dance and a rally plus spirit week. Oh what joy!

Anyone else that was completely exhausted when you got home from school this week? Or am I just getting old? Seems like my brain is on while I'm teaching and as soon as I get home it starts to shut down.

Not "experts and specialist" who haven't taught since the 1900's telling me how I should teach this new generation.

Y'all!!! Yesterday was our last day of school. I was able to leave early bc I did early morning duty. But thank God I did bc as soon as I hit the road my friend calls me and says "where are you, were on lock down!" Turns out it was a road wage incident where someone got shot!
