The 3rd annual legislative summit #LegSummit2018 is jointly organized by County Assemblies Forum @CAFKENYA and The Senate Senate of Kenya .

In addressing #LegSummit2018 conference, Hon. Joshua Kiptoo emphasised on collective responsibility of the National Assembly, Senate of Kenya and County Assembly in enhancing oversight over resources allocated to counties.

The Big Four- healthcare, manufacturing, housing and food security- is not a preserve of the national government. Counties are co-drivers and critical stakeholders in this effort.

County assemblies must keep their oversight responsibilities pure and ensure the people in every ward and county get their share of the promise of devolution.

Devolution is meaningless if the voice of the people is not reflected in government policy. Public participation is the essence of democratic devolution; this opportunity must be strengthened.
