I remember as a child of a single mother how much the rhetoric against single mums from Tory ministers used to upset me as a child. My mum worked (sometimes 2 jobs) & raised 3 boys. She’s the hardest working person I’ve ever met. I’m seeing the same nasty language online today.

Tasha Williams works, has four children, and explains how lifting the two child benefit cap will help her: "I can't describe in words without crying how pleased I am that it is lifted" "For so many families it means so much"

NEW 🚨 | The Government will reduce the qualifying period for full protection from unfair dismissal from two years to six months. There’ll also be no statutory probation period. The Employment Rights Bill is essential to better quality, more secure jobs for millions of workers.

When Keir Starmer asked me to work with our Trades Unions to develop a programme for the biggest uplift in workers’ rights and protections in a generation, I did exactly as I was asked and we produced the New Deal for Working People. 1/11

We have discovered in the last 24 hours that there are 10s of 1000s of people livid about taxpayers cash being spent on benefits & mobility. These are the same people who do not give a single sh!t about the £BILLIONS lost to serial, industrial scale tax evasion by the wealthy.

Sixty percent of those hit by the two-child cap are in working families. It would be extremely interesting to know how many Gail’s Bakery employees are on Universal Credit. When the state subsidises low wages, does Luke count that as welfare? #BBCQT

Says a man who 48hrs after stating this proceeded to spend £720000 on adverts targeted at 5 right wing newspapers to bury the scrutiny he is under

What we’ve witnessed over last 24 hours is effectively a coup by the unelected House of Lords overriding a democratically elected government & dismissing the wishes of the people determined by a democratic election. In any other country we’d be condemning this as a coup d’etat.

New: What Angela Rayner will do next on workers' rights - Anger growing in PLP about U-turn - Rayner to meet with colleagues to discuss on Monday - But she's expected to discourage a rebellion on the govt amendment - She is now focused on making sure rest of package isn't

Spending £3.5bn on lifting half a million children out of poverty: Disgraceful waste of money Throwing £15bn a year at the Triple Lock regardless of whether those benefitting have any need for it: Entirely right. Have I got it right?

I’m very pleased that Jonathan Gullis has joined Reform – we need more conviction politicians with strongly held principles. In other news, here he is explaining why there is absolutely no chance he would ever defect to Reform.

I've just been sent this letter from Ed Miliband's office that he sent to the energy firms about fixed tariffs. Lets hope they all play ball (however reluctantly)
