A Supreme Court where 5 of 6 conservative justices were appointed by GOP presidents who initially lost popular vote & confirmed by senators representing minority of Americans are taking away voting rights & reproductive rights from millions of Americans. This is not democracy
.Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський's tv address to the Russian (!) people might be the most moving speech that I've ever seen in my entire life. The whole world needs to see, understand and share this crucial Ukrainian message. #StandWithUkraine #Ukraine #Україна #Russia #Россия

Off to Oregon today where I’m co-leading a tour w/ Ventures Birding over the next 12 days. Looking forward to some great birding and visiting some spectacular locations!
Gripe of the Day: people driving these things around #GSMNP . Noisy, needless, and they stay on the paved road… so WHY 🤷♂️ ppl driving them seem to consistently be at least discourteous (not using pullouts) and at worst obnoxious (loud music). National Park Service 😔
Toni Androski and I met with the office of Senator Ted Cruz this morning to discuss U.S. National Science Foundation funding for next fiscal year. Important that NSF receive $11.9B in FY24. American Institute of Biological Sciences #AIBSCVD2023
Toni Androski and I were in a marathon of meetings today on Capitol Hill on behalf of American Institute of Biological Sciences to advocate for funding U.S. National Science Foundation at $11.9B in FY24. Many thx to the staff of Martin Heinrich for chatting w/ us, and was great to meet the Senator himself!
It was an honor to meet with @AAAS Fellow Alex Halvey in the office of Sen. Martin Heinrich in support of $11.9B of funding for the U.S. National Science Foundation. Natl Science Fdn. funding is critical for getting undergraduates into sci careers and fuels interdisciplinary research at Univ. of New Mexico! #AIBSCVD2023
