🚨Judge Reed O'Connor STRIKES DOWN a major provision of the Affordable Care Act requiring insurers to cover a vast amount of preventive care cost-free (contraception, cancer screening, PrEP, a ton of pregnancy-related care). The ruling applies nationwide. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

Clonal hematopoiesis is an expansion of blood stem cell clones caused by mutations in a recurrent set of genes. Our paper on factors mediating expansion of these mutant clones is published today. nature.com/articles/s4158… Thread below...

I've said "ship has sailed" & results justify adjuv osi. However, IMO, you/we should give less 👏📣& openly acknowledge major, systematic ethical/scientific probs that compromise if not undermine ADAURA interpretation. We shouldn't just REWARD cheating that HARMS pts on ctrl arm.

Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) has been associated with all kinds of bad outcomes, like risk of heart disease, stroke, liver disease, lung disease, and blood cancers. We wondered if CHIP had any association to AD.

I'm excited to share a new paper and, with it, my first #tweetorial. Out today in Journal of Adolescent Health, this brief report with Dr. Jacquelyn Stephens (she/her), Emma Adam, and colleagues offers 3 insights about a sample of late adolescents followed for a 5-year period. cc: Northwestern SESP #newpaperalert 1/X

Among hospitalized adults, the risk of acute kidney injury did not differ between cefepime and piperacillin-tazobactam, but neurological dysfunction was more common with cefepime. #IDWeek2023 ja.ma/3RYQHSD

Did you ever wonder why our marrow is located inside of our *bones*, #MedTwitter? There’s no a priori anatomical reason it should be sited there. Blood cells could form in our spleens & livers, as they do during our fetal lives; or elsewhere, as in some animals. Let’s discuss! /1

#ASH23 Excellent talk from Michael Savona describing Alex Silver wonderful PhD work which delineates differences in the biology and clinical outcomes between distinct DNMT3A variants. Going to be hard to justify lumping all DNMT3A mutations as one entity in CHIP going forward
