Strumpshaw Fen has fair-sized populations of both muntjac and water deer. Tracks from the latter can be found all around the fen and reedbeds, but even these wetland specialists slide in the mud!

This afternoon was all about measuring salinity in the wet meadows around the Fen. Marsh harriers, buzzards, herons. So many water deer. And snipe camouflaged so well I almost stepped on them! #conservation #volunteering RSPB Strumpshaw Fen
