A2: I think it is our job to prioritize student accessibility. As teachers, it is our job to be adaptive and flexible. Yes, it is true we need to consider ourselves, but we also need to consider why we are here. What is our purpose in education? #unbced

Formative assessment has the potential to transform both teaching and learning if done with fidelity and consistency. It is more important to see where Ss are and redirect lessons in real time than it is to put a grade in the book.

Reasons why I love November: 1. #nanowrimo begins. 2. The snow starts to stick. 3. It’s always my Harry Potter themed month in my bullet journal. Sharing a little of my creative side today... ☺️

Putting our learning about “meeting the outside pins” from Dr. Shelley Moore, PhD into practice. Jane Cougle just adapted our math test to allow for levels of complexity & choice. For all. (#’s are test questions) Relating it to our #learningarrow and new plant metaphor. #sd37afl

Last week, my students learned about indirect characterization and made their very own pop-up characters using S.T.E.A.L. (Speech, thoughts, effects, actions, and looks). There were some super creative examples. I had so much fun marking these!

Today, we played Kahoot! to review what we learned throughout our Short Stories unit these past two weeks. The students were super engaged and were asking for more questions when it was over. 😃

Shaking things up for Valentine’s Day! We’re going to have a subject-verb agreement auction, and play “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” with sentence types!

A very exciting day! This is my second degree from University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), a school that I initially moved away from home to attend. I now consider Prince George to be home. I am thrilled to begin my teaching career this September in School District No. 57 (Prince George)
