Save the Children's response to the pledges announced at today's Education Cannot Wait HLFC: " Today's announcement of $826mln pledged for ECW is a landmark milestone for the financing of education in emergencies, but we're disappointed that just over half of what is needed was pledged"
Such a pleasure to speak with Colombian child advocate Ana Sofia, Nigerian youth advocate Imrana, @ToneTinnes Nils Melzer & the Minister of Basic Education of Cameroon this morning - a great opportunity to flag the nb role of the Safe Schools Declaration in keeping students safe.
We congratulate Ambassador Clare Walsh 🇦🇺 🇺🇳 for joining the #SafeSchoolsDeclaration- the rest of Asia- Pacific countries should follow their lead! 👏👏👏
We are dismayed by Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office decision to slash its bilateral aid to Afghanistan, and it's neighbour Pakistan, at a time of critical need. This could be devastating for Afghans who are supported by UK aid. Read BAAG's statement below: baag.org.uk/press-releases…
GCPEA Secretariat research has found that explosive weapons (incl. landmines and unexploded remnants of war) were used in around 1/5 of all attacks on education in 2020-2021, with Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Myanmar, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen as the most affected countries.
🚨Job alert! The Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA Secretariat) is looking to hire a new senior advocacy and policy adviser, to be based in Geneva. It's a fantastic job, and they need a fantastic person: protectingeducation.org/job/senior-adv… #ChildRights #HumanRightsJobs
