Proud of these and more middle school St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School who chose to spend recess cleaning up our campus and Fort Ward Park next door. Our plans for Environmental Awareness Week also include spirit dress days, a seed planting event on #EarthDay, and at-home environmental challenges.
Environmental Awareness Week continues with a seed planting event on #EarthDay - students planted marigolds & zinnias in cardboard egg cartons. Seeds should germinate in a few weeks, so these St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School can plant the cartons directly into their home gardens for summer blooms!
A successful St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School Environmental Awareness Week wraps up at the MS. Prizes for environmental challenge participants next week! “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” -Margaret Mead
One month in, and our St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School scientists are hard at work! Seventh graders are solving challenges, collaborating, and showing off their content knowledge. Looking forward to what our next month brings!
Our St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School middle schoolers are feeling the holiday spirit today! Winter break, here we come!
Continually grateful for the wealth of ideas shared by #EMC2Learning. Our modified "personal record rubric" from John Meehan (he/him) & Michael Matera has significantly improved my science students' self-reflection process. So easy to track progress with a meaningful check-in after each unit!
For the second year in a row, St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School scientists explored broad diversity in the sciences with help from amazing I Am A Scientist Project resources. Bonus - OUR Noor felt a connection with Noor Al-Alusi and modeled the year-end assignments after her! Thanks for your continued inspiration!
Wondering if Sheldrick Wildlife Trust can help me identify this Nairobi orphan. I visited in July and would love to know who I captured here! Thank you for all your efforts to protect & care for these beautiful animals.
Thanks for a wonderful day on the Shenandoah River, Front Royal Outdoors! What a fun way for our St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School students to kick-off minicourses!
What a perfect way for our St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School students to celebrate Earth Day - lots of hands-on science with the Alice Ferguson Foundation team!
Thank you Boating In DC for an awesome final day of our St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School minicourse adventures! These Saints loved exploring the Potomac River from Fletchers Boat House boathouse!
Our middle school St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School are ready for Halloween! These students enjoyed a fall afternoon with tasty treats, spooky music, & pumpkins from Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill. The Pumpkin Carving Party is hosted by the Diversity & Equity, Sustainability, and Service Learning campus leaders.
