Completely agree about sitting down with the children - it has a massive impact. In my school you get a free lunch if you sit with the children. I love food so often talk about the ‘obscure’ things on the menu, which does encourage chn to try it. tes.com/news/bake-judg…

My favourite moment of the school year happened today, after 3pm, when the children had left me for the holidays. Four boys (who ‘hated’ reading) returned to class to remind me we hadn’t finished our book. I read the last pages. They loved it and wanted the next book #YearMade
