My "homework" is called Independent Practice. It is designed to be completed during the 85-minute daily block. My thought is that my classes are 20-30 minutes longer than many other math classes. "Time of day" for homework doesn't really matter - it can occur during class.

MS Math: Memory Walks, Scavenger Hunts, Escape Challenges. My favorite test review was "Find Someone Who..." - students would start with a handout of 15 problems & had to find a different classmate for each problem. They also had to be available to work on other's handouts.
