Excitement is building this morning! The CBC eye opener radio show are here on site and starting the day with a free breakfast!

Some of our grade 4/5 students @HMSCBE were lucky to be selected to experience the live broadcast of the radio show ‘CBC’s Eyeopener’. We even got to interview the hosts and hear a dad joke! Maybe you heard us cheering?

Congratulations to our ‘read to win a laser tag game’ winners! Another 8 happy students received certificates today in our monthly draw.

We were introduced to the game Bocce today in gym. We will be playing this game all week during our gym class.

Our students have been researching and preparing a presentation on the stories of people in Alberta. Today we learned about Nellie McClung and her contributions towards women’s rights. Thanks to M for her excellent and thorough research! You did a great job teaching us today 💕

Our strong ‘math brain’ peers know their facts. For those that would like to practice at home, this is a free app with no adverts. Every week we are focusing on one multiplication table and practicing daily. This week we have been getting faster with our 2x tables.

Our math/art tiny house project has progressed to the furniture building stage! We look forward to our project time every day

We had a fun wellness morning @HMSCBE exploring various clubs. Options included yoga, drawing, coloring, reading in nature, coding, chalk, rock painting, fitness centers, rainbow whirlygigs and making playlists. It was great to work with new teachers and friends!

We are beginning our preparations for the end of year. Please send an extra bag with your student so that we can start sending work home. A reusable grocery bag or similar works well.

We are so lucky to have a medal winning Olympian in our community @HMSCBE Lynda spoke to our students during our sports day kick off assembly and then ran our nerf gun target station. Students were able to experience authentic safety protocols and equipment. Thank you 💕
