Today we started learning about video essays in preparation of writing and producing our own. Love sharing the incredible work of Donnovan Bennett with my students to get them engaged and excited about creating their own video essays!

What an amazing way to start our day! We had the opportunity to ask Donnovan Bennett questions about the writing and production process of video essay writing. We are so grateful that we had this opportunity and are applying what he shared with us to our own work.

My favourite part about a read aloud is the time that we take to learn about the history relevant to the topic of focus. This helps us to get the most out of what we are reading and to deepen our knowledge & understanding. We dove into The Stranger & read an article about Chanie.

On October 17, the day Gord Downie joined the spirit world, we remember and honour the incredible legacy of a true poet and charismatic artist. Gord used his voice to encourage us all to #DoSomething for meaningful reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

It's that time of year again Owls! We will be collecting boxes of cereal to donate to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre again this year as our Giving Tuesday innovative. Last year we donated over 200 boxes of cereal, let's see if we can break our record!
