During this pandemic, there are groups of people that really tug at my heart. 2020 grads, summer brides, and fall- first year teachers. How can schools running virtually make them feel welcomed? #HackLearning

It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.

We have lost a giant among us. A trailblazer. And a champion of equality and justice. Our hearts ache tonight. Let us honor her memory by preserving the very ideals she fought so tirelessly for. Rest in Power.

We have lost a giant in the history of our nation with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It is heartbreaking that in her final moments she was, as are many others, preoccupied with what would happen after her passing. I want to make one thing clear: we can, and must, fight.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg stood for all of us. She was an American hero, a giant of legal doctrine, and a relentless voice in the pursuit of that highest American ideal: Equal Justice Under Law. May her memory be a blessing to all people who cherish our Constitution and its promise.

This election is about so much more than Joe Biden or me. It’s about the soul of America and our willingness to fight for it. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Let’s get started.

Today I heard from a parent that their son was terribly upset when he got covid, because it would ruin his 100% attendance record. At the end of the year, those with 100% get book tokens & certificates in assembly. Here’s why policies like that should stop. 1/

So are we just not going to talk about the teacher who got shot by a 6 year old student? Are we just gonna pretend like this isn’t happening in public education? In the hospital with life threatening injuries…are we going to tell her to “remember her why” after this? Horrific.

Maddie Fairchild (@fairchildthings) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Teachers are threatened and harmed by students in the classroom every single day. That is a fact. Denying or ignoring that fact is no longer WORKING. (It never was) I’ve been that teacher, MOST have. This is not sustainable. I stand with her.
