What a fantastic World Book Day year 4 have had! We enjoyed a fabulous workshop with the author Natalie Denny, wrote about our favourite book characters in Spanish, read with year 1 and even finished the day with a hot chocolate 🌟🐚📚 ⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 4 have been having lots of fun, playing lots of different interactive times tables games, in ‘times table club’. All of year 4 are welcome attend. The club is after school each Wednesday. Come and join in the fun and practise your times tables too🐚🌟⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Today, year 4 had a special visit from Mrs Young. An important letter had been delivered to warn the children. Unfortunately, the much-loved bedtime stories have lost their happy endings. Be careful when you’re choosing a story! ⁦Literacy Counts⁩ ⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 4 enjoyed reading fairytales with year 2 as part of their research about happy-endings. Year 4 stopped reading before the happy-ending and asked year 2 how they felt. Luckily, they then finished the story to end on a happy note ⁦@StJamesCE⁩ ⁦Literacy Counts⁩

Year 4 had a fantastic morning ‘nurturing their curiosity’ in the Liverpool museum. After a picnic lunch, we took a ferry across the Mersey where we were excited to spot many landmarks. What a super Golden Shell experience! 🐚🌟⁦@StJamesCE⁩

We enjoyed our STEM learning in year 2 this week. We loved looking at the beautiful picture books and used them to help us learn more about conservation. We enjoyed tidying up our woodland area and completed artwork, letters and posters. ⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 4 had a lovely morning exploring the prayer stations around school. We learnt about the different ways to pray and loved the resources to help us to choose a prayer. Thank you to Miss Barrett for helping year 4 with this🐚🌟⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 2 we’re thrilled to meet Gavin Massey ⁦AFC Fylde⁩. Gavin spoke to year 2 about working hard to follow your dreams. The children had lots of questions for Gavin and are now very inspired 🐚

Year 2 had a very enjoyable and interesting visit to church. Father Michael gave the children a guided tour of the St James and shared lots of information. Year 2 had lots of questions and enjoyed sharing their recent RE learning #REStJames ⁦@StJamesCE⁩

It was lovely to welcome year 2’s parents into class for our Opening Worlds coffee morning. We had a lovely lesson where we heard the story of a family moving to Haydock and then we enjoyed directing them to Tesco using our fieldwork skills. 🐚⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 2 had a fantastic time colouring and designing Christmas hats to wear whilst we ate our lovely Christmas dinner 🐚 🎄🤶⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 2 are enjoying their dance unit in PE. They have been using their imagination to pretend that they are in a secret garden. It is fantastic to see the children working as a team to create a sequence of dance moves whilst counting out the beat. ⁦@StJamesCE⁩

It was lovely to have our special parent visitors in class. Year 2 enjoyed learning more about their classmates by playing a fun bingo game. We found out about our different interests, pets, our families & much more. ⁦@StJamesCE⁩

Year 2 worked fantastically well as a team to retrieve their knowledge from their recent RE topic, ‘Jesus: Why did Jesus welcome everyone?’ ⁦@StJamesCE⁩
