On our last day, here we are on our first day. What a year it has been, so many highlights & memories it’s hard to even try and think of them all. A wonderful class that I will very much miss but I will continue to follow your successes at high school. Have a great summer. 😃☀️

Spending part of a windy and rainy Saturday at Kelvingrove Museum and came across the Ancient Egypt section. Made me think of Mrs Ingram - Fallin Primary School St Ninians - Mr Atkinson and @MrsWardSTN and the learning in your classrooms.

Love going into every class for a blether, see how everybody is and what’s happening but it’s always a treat to go in and do a lesson. Loved this. Can’t wait to continue our Google/Chromebook journey. 😃

Thank you everybody for the support over the weekend, it really did keep us going. We are some community. Big thanks too to St Ninians - Mr Atkinson for the chats, laughs and encouragement. Also, Boofle and P1 Teddy were superstars, never heard a peep/moan from them at any point. 😃

Over the last few weeks volunteers have picked up 102 free 3x2 and 7 2x2 slabs (plus a few broken ones) from locations in Stirling, Alloa & Alva and brought them back to school so that we can build a path in the food growing project area. #stninplayground #ccaf St Ninians Primary School Stirling

Sadly I can’t do Bike to School week as I live in Glasgow, instead I’ve signed up for three Spin Classes this week. One tonight, one on Wednesday night and one of Friday night. After class one, I think the 30mile cycle to school would be easier. 😜 #stninsport 🚴🏻

Completed my 3rd spin class of the week tonight, taking the total numbers of miles cycled to 32.8miles. I’ve managed to do the number of miles from home to school (plus a 1.8miles for the journey home), for my Bike to School Week. #stninsport 🚴🏼‍♂️

Today, there was a huge buzz of excitement in P1 as two items were delivered to our classroom! The 1st, was a letter from a Queen & King in a castle!! The 2nd, a parcel of keys which we think are for different parts of the castle! We can’t wait to learn more!

The P1 and P2 Reading Cafe at lunch time was a great success today. Over the course of lunch time we had around 60 learners pop in, eat their lunch and hear stories. Same again next Wednesday at 12:15pm. 😃#stninreading P6T

Today, we continued with our mini context ‘Scotland’. I discussed Rabbie Burns with the class and read the 1st few lines of “To A Mouse”. We then created an image of the tim’rous beastie…P1 let their imaginations flow and I love them all. Amazing creations!

Just some of the fantastic kilts that we have made during our Scotland mini context. The rest of our fantastic kilts are displayed around the room. Great technology skills from P1 using different materials, cutting, gluing, sticking and weaving. We love them and are very proud!

Peeled it. Chopped it. Boiled it. Mashed it. Cooked it. Ate it. A lovely wee Burns Supper today in P1A which we all helped to make. Haggis, neeps and tatties…ye canny beat it. We had a dance, sung songs and recited poems as well as enjoyed shortbread. Good fun all round. 😃

Some great peer assessment today! Using our ‘Everyday Success Criteria’ we assessed each other’s work. Lots of good feedback “letters are the right way”, “special friends are close to each other” “finger spaces” and “good size”. Great job P1A!

Today we enjoyed “worm charming” for our compost bins. We all stood in a circle and had a good stamp of the feet and were amazed when worms began to pop up. We carefully moved 11 worms to a delicious new home in one of compost bins. 🪱 St Ninians Playground Project

Very proud of our P1s today who delivered an amazing assembly (twice): “Our Year in Primary One!” We spoke about some of the highlights of our P1 year along with singing our favourite songs. We also had artwork to show and a photo gallery wall. 😊
