Bumble bee update. So, Fatso has become the new Fido. Yes, he came back yet again. Here he is watching 'Four in a Bed' which he did for about an hour. He then made his own way out. I will not be surprised to see him tomorrow.

Bumble bees again. 07.30 hrs, Fatso came back again. Hovering over her face, he woke my wife. A few minutes later, he did the same to me. At least Fido waited until we were having breakfast each morning!

So Fatso the bumble bee woke us up yesterday. We had another return too so we took them to the allotment, some distance away. We did this with Fido but he found his way back but this pair had a whale of a time in my wife's poppies. There is a bee in each pic. Honest.

Your bumble bees today: Found this chap on the staircase window, had to act quickly as the VERY large spider there is very agile. Speaking of which, this other boy just popped in through this window & got himself caught in a web, the owner of which shot out but he's safe.

Bumble bees: The sausage who just popped in & got caught in a web has been safely picked up after a wander around the room & is having a bit of a feed. I will release him with the other chap into the yard in a few moments.

4/. Of course, I am obliged to provide sanctuary & the energy they need to recover. The problem is that many of them like us and like it here. I started by letting them out of the front window. They have scanned us & the front of the house. They come back. Some again & again.

1/. Bumble bees: I may need to explain. Every morning & at other times of the day, when I enter one room at the rear of the house, I am in the middle of a bumble bee flying circus. The fuzzy loonies are everywhere. Mostly males & the reason became fairly clear.

2/. They enter throughout the day for one reason. They are all horny buggers looking for a lady. A lady bumble bee seems to have set up home in the neighbour's loft insulation and she is pumping out some serious quantities of pheromones. In they come, time after time.

3/. I have seen them in a queue, crawling along to pay their respects and leaving in turn. Most eventually find their own way out after a while but a fair number don't, either exhausting themselves or getting caught in spider web and we have some big & active spiders here.

Bumble Bees Again: Insect Chutzpa! Having breakfast. Bee tries entry. Blocked. Tries again. Blocked & off. Comes back silently. BZZZZ! Hangs around table. I uncover a unit to catch him in, he is on it, tongue out sucking up sugar! He just came back for breakfast. The cheeky git.

Bumble bees today: Two silly sausages from the stairwell window. Taking nutrients & will be ok to release soon. The chap in the brown unit, an urgent rescue as he had landed right by the large and lively spider's lair! When any return, puss-cat largely ignores them, thankfully.
