Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School went back to Jemaa el Fna this evening for dinner. The square is even more lively at night, with lots of sights and sounds. Dinner was salads; pastilla (a Moroccan meat pie); tagine; Moroccan pancakes and pastries; and mint tea.

The canteen at Hilali Targa School is a hive of activity this morning as Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School work with their new friends to make a Moroccan salad and tagine. See the results later this morning!

This morning, after watching a demonstration on how to make a tagine, Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School worked hard, alongside their partner pupils, to prepare a Moroccan salad ready for lunch.

This morning, Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School enjoyed some friendly competition with their partner pupils at Hilali Targa School. We played each other at football and basketball and all teams showed excellent teamwork, working well together and supporting their players from the sidelines.

What better way to make friends than to enjoy listening to music and dancing together. The children in Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School listened to traditional Imazighen music - the music of the original inhabitants of North Africa - as part of a cultural celebration today 🇲🇦.

There were lots of empty plates today at lunch. The table of Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School pupils that I sat with at lunch thought the tagine they ate at Hilali Targa School today was the best one they had tasted in the trip so far!

A great afternoon of activities for Year 5 pupils Hazel Community Primary School. We had a French lesson, watched a fashion show of traditional Moroccan clothing and had henna hand painting done. Two pupils also took part in a podcast recording, discussing their experiences in Morocco 🇲🇦.

This morning, Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School, alongside members of staff, enjoyed trying a range of traditional Moroccan clothing and taking part in a fashion show with their partners at Hilali Targa International School. So many beautiful colours and styles!

Lunch today for Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School was couscous. As every lunch time, it was delicious and there were lots of empty plates at the end of the meal. Hilali Targa International School has some very talented chefs!

After lunch, Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School enjoyed an amazing music showcase by the pupils at Hilali Targa International School, which started with the Moroccan and U.K National Anthems and ended with everyone dancing on the stage. We had lots of fun watching the incredible performances

This afternoon, Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School enjoyed mint tea and Moroccan pastries before presenting Madame Hilali - one of the school’s founders - with a small gift to show our gratitude for the wonderful time we have had with our partners in Marrakech 🇲🇦.

It’s always hard to say goodbye and Year 5 Hazel Community Primary School have had such a wonderful time with their partners in Morocco that this afternoon was especially sad. However, we know that this is just the beginning of an amazing relationship between Hazel Primary and Hilali Targa 🇲🇦.

What an amazing evening Y5 Hazel Community Primary School had to round off an incredible 6 days in Marrakech! After a dinner of lamb and couscous, we watched a brilliant show, demonstrating many aspects of traditional Moroccan life. There were horses, camels, fireworks and even a flying carpet!

Y5 Hazel Community Primary School were very sad to leave Marrakech today, especially our guide Youssef. He has been with us throughout our stay here, showing us the city, sharing his knowledge and being an invaluable support to the teachers. Shukran, Youssef!

Y5 Hazel Community Primary School are back! After a great flight, we landed safely back at Heathrow airport. Many thanks to our amazing British Airways Captain and Co-Pilot, who shared our bus from the plane to the terminal and stopped so we could take a picture together.

Y5 Hazel Community Primary School celebrated 120 years of Central Library. We explored historical artefacts, took part in craft activities, had story time and joined Elaine Pantling Labour Cllr EME for a cake cutting. Thank you Leicester Libraries and Community Centres and Leicester Museums & Galleries for hosting. Happy Birthday Central Library!

Y5 Hazel Community Primary School held their ‘Celebrate Morocco’ event. Thanks to our parent, who provided refreshments, and our special guests Ted Cassidy MBE, Elaine Pantling Labour Cllr EME, Shockat Adam MP and H.E. Hakim Hajoui, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the U.K and N.I, who joined us via Zoom 🇲🇦
