I had the honor of worshipping with the faithful at St Peter's Claver Ndalani Catholic Church in Yatta, Machakos County. The spirit of unity, prayer, and fellowship was truly uplifting. I sincerely thank the church leadership and the congregation for the warm welcome.

I made a brief stop at Kithimani Market after the traders kindly requested that I greet them. The warmth and energy from the people were truly humbling. I listened to what you told me, your hopes, your challenges and your vision for the kind of Machakos you want to see.

Together, we shall invest in a consultative, inclusive and people-driven leadership.

The democratic space must remain open for leaders to contest and seek the people's mandate without undue interference. Suppressing ambitions at local levels weakens the very democracy we seek to uphold at the national level.

Today at the National Assembly, the Public Petitions Committee made a critical resolution to engage the TSC leadership on how hardship zones are designated across the country.

This decision followed a petition presented by my brother, Hon. Vincent Musyoka (MP Mwala), on behalf of teachers from Machakos County,specifically those from Mwala and Kalama Sub-counties.

As the Member of Parliament for Mavoko, I took this opportunity to raise another pressing issue: the unfair disparity in house allowances for teachers working in metropolitan areas.

For instance, teachers in Mlolongo,which is part of the Nairobi Metropolitan region,receive less in house allowance compared to their counterparts in nearby Embakasi South, despite facing similar living costs.

Fair treatment for our teachers is not just a matter of policy it’s a matter of justice. Harmonizing allowances will boost morale, promote equity, and enhance the quality of education across our regions.

My office, led by CDF Chair Michael Mulei, officially commissioned four newly constructed classrooms at St. Augustine High School, Mlolongo.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and creating a conducive learning environment for our students.

Many Kenyans benefited through employment and business opportunities courtesy of him. I convey my deepest condolences to his family, friends, employees of his various companies and Kenyans at large.

His straightforward approach to life was refreshing, admirable and will be greatly missed. A great man he was and a patriot of Kenya. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
