Hi Air India I purchased my tickets and at the time of booking I purchased my preferred seat however, during the web checkin I wasn’t given a choice to check in on my preferred (already purchased seat) and I was asked to buy another seat of my choice and pay extra. Why???

Pathetic experience with Air India and Vistara . Booked on Air India, got vistara. Seat selection during web checkin is saying free seat but not reserving window or aisle seat. Error suggesting call customer care. Holding for 45 mins but it’s saying 1 min wait time.
