Excellent article in @gardenersworldmag about rain gardens – clear, concise and informative. Love the statistic from Wales about 100 green gardens diverting more than 40,000,000 L of rainwater from sewers!

Many people asking us about #bumblebees at the moment - why they’re seeing them on the ground - so here’s a quick thread to explain what they’re up to. Please #retweet as every #queen that survives means a new colony that gets to exist & produce new queen #bees for next year! 1/8

Over the past few days I'm seeing lots of Golden Crowned Kinglets - so small (almost hummingbird size) and fast flitting (hard to photograph). This one was flitting around the sun-lit wall of our house picking off bugs. #norfolknature #birds

Happy #MonarchMonday! Some states are starting to see caterpillars, so it’s a perfect time for a caterpillar identification refresh! Monarch caterpillars have a few look-alikes, making it more difficult to identify different species. Pictured are a black swallowtail caterpillar,

Mama oriole gathering nesting materials by stripping down last year's pale purple coneflower (Echinacea pallida) stems (this is why we leave stems standing until well into May).

What an inspiring and ethereal evening serenade from a beautiful Wood #Thrush. Truly, one of #nature's most spectacular songsters! A tranquil moment against a backdrop of #TurkeyPoint #Marsh, #LongPoint, #LakeErie. We're restoring local forest cover & hope to hear more of this!

Bhutila Karpoche My son's school here in Ottawa was flooded this afternoon due to heavy rain we received, and the school had to be closed. Instead of spending hundred of millions of $$s on beer, the ON gov't needs to spend money on schools and healthcare. So sick of Ford's grfiting.
