A huge thank you to those who attended sessions with us yesterday. It was great to work with our Midlothian Learning Assistants exploring ways to support learners in numeracy and the skills needed to be a successful reader in literacy.

We loved seeing so many of our Midlothian NQTs today at our session on Reading Comprehension. Thanks to those who volunteered to wear our 'summarising sombreros' to demonstrate summarising the story of Little Red. 🐺

This was such a good course. One of the ones you don't actually want to finish because your so engaged and interested in what comes next!

Another fantastic session with our primary NQTs this time with a focus on grammar and teaching sentence structure. Lots of 💡moments and great enthusiasm from all that were there! Midlothian Education Jen Hodson

Thanks to P2 Mayfield Primary who worked with me today to extend their 'size' vocabulary to help them to write some interesting descriptive sentences about tractors. We used our bodies to think about what words like 'wide' look like and compared similar words like 'big' & 'large' 🚜

Incorporating Syllables into my spelling lessons to improve reading :) Huge thanks to Midlothian Raising Attainment Team for the resources and also the training 👏 The children loved it!
