The view of the 14th green from the fairway is one usually reserved for birds and drones — the approach plays blind over a trio of bunkers called 'The Widows.' Adding to the pressure? A handful of members watching from the clubhouse patio, tucked just left of the fairway.

As the Walker Cup starts today, we celebrate Hesketh member Harry Bentley, who played in the 1934, 1936, and 1938 matches - pictured welcoming Henry Cotton to Hesketh. His and his brother Arnold's legacy lives on through our Bentley Trophy and Bentley Room in the clubhouse.

Our course is defined by its sunken greens, and the 18th provides the perfect finale. A beautiful setting for the last approach - just make sure you don’t overclub, with the driveway waiting only a few yards away.
