To tackle referee abuse , eight Provincial Sport Organizations in Nova Scotia have united to combat referee abuse in sport by introducing the 'Green Armband Initiative'.  This initiative serves as a reminder to respect and protect these young officials who wear green armbands.

Been a rough week for minor lacrosse in Halifax. There have been multiple incidents with verbal abuse directed at on-floor officials, timekeepers and scorers. It would be sad to see the sport go the way of minor basketball and have to have some spectator free games #norefnogame
