Congratulations to Helen Ogbu and to Ireland ❤️🇮🇪 'From asylum seeker to councillor' - Helen Ogbu becomes first black woman elected to Galway City Council Jack Quann newstalk.com/news/from-asyl… via NewstalkFM

Councillor Henry has a ring to it!! Incredibly proud of you Jesslyn Henry 💜

With UNICEF Ireland's Peter Power, Fórsa trade union's Mehak Dugal and Treasurer Michael Smyth this afternoon to present a cheque from our members and branches in aid of the #Gaza appeal. This is in addition to the donation of €100k that the union made late last year.

My thanks to all Fórsa trade union reps who attended this morning; to my colleagues Grace Williams, Aisling Cusack and Mehak Dugal for their work; to Sinéad from Amárach Research for the ongoing collaboration; and to @TASCblog's Oisín Gilmore, Tiarnán and Molly for the research.

Delighted to bring the #StopTheStigma campaign to Brussels. Periods and menopause are a workplace issue, and workplaces should work for everyone! Thank you to our friends at ETUI - European Trade Union Institute for having us present at their excellent conference on gender & occupational health and safety.

I'm very proud of the work of Mehak Dugal and other Fórsa trade union colleagues on the #StopTheStigma campaign which is being recognised internationally this afternoon.

The trade union bloc at the Palestine march was honoured to meet UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt at the Gaza march today. Her bravery and honesty have been a beacon for so many. Keep marching. Keep boycotting. Keep demanding a permanent ceasefire and a free Palestine!

What an honour that President of Ireland chose to spend his last May Day in office with trade unions. "Your movement is the greatest hope for economy, ecology, and justice Your trade union campaign week needs to show everyone that there is dignity in work, and hope in the collective"

Working from home is an election issue. But it's so much more important than that. We need to resist the diktats to return to the office. Instead, we should gather real evidence to inform policy. My piece in today's Irish Examiner. irishexaminer.com/opinion/commen…
