The Shuman Lab at Friedman Brain Institute is looking for new postdocs! With new funding💸 and students graduating🎓we now have 2+ postdoc positions open in the lab. We use in vivo recordings and manipulations to investigate memory circuits and how they go wrong in neurological diseases.👇
If you are interested in miniaturized 2P imaging, check out this amazing preprint by Blake Madruga Peyman Golshani. The image quality is FANTASTIC!!
🚨🚨🚨Check out this amazing work by Blake Madruga and Peyman Golshani! Expanding the UCLA Miniscope Team to multi-photon approaches!
So excited to present Blake Madruga 's amazing biorxiv paper on the first of our new generation of open-source 2-photon miniaturized microscopes. The scope has excellent resolution and great sensitivity such that we can image dendrites in RSC and image DG through an intact CA1.
Hear ye!🔔 🔔 Applications are open to postdocs for Princeton's postdoc symposium TigerBrain! Come to PNI to talk about your work and meet our awesome faculty! Brad Dickerson and I would love to meet you! Apps due 8/15 forms.gle/8zEyzfJwZcDzPH… Plz RT🙌
Thrilled to see my article featured on The Transmitter! Learn about our journey of creating open-source Miniscopes and their impact on neuroscience. thetransmitter.org/open-neuroscie… #OpenScience #Neuroscience #Innovation Miniscope Team
And it’s out! Our lab’s very first paper is published today Nature Methods! Our calcium-activated split-TurboID (CaST) can biochemically tag activated neurons within 10 minutes, enabling a molecular handle on functionally relevant cell ensembles: tinyurl.com/ddyecxze
It has been great collaboration with Daniel Aharoni 's lab, especially changliang guo. Wonderful Miniscope Team ! The cool MiniXL will enable more exciting work in the near future!
Session proposals for the 2025 Park City Learning and Memory meeting (Jan 2-5) are now open! This is a fun meeting that allows ample time for discussions and interactions with trainees. Feel free to reach out to me or Steve Ramirez. See website for more info: parkcitywinterconf.org
big day!! so excited to share the preprint of my postdoc project in Weizhe Hong 🥳🥳🙌🏼🙌🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼 we identified how prefrontal populations enable social groups to coordinate into huddles during thermal challenge! ❄️🐭🐭🐭🐭❄️
So happy to have made a tiny contribution testing this exciting new GEVI! Voltage imaging is coming of age...fast! Congrats Prof. Michael Lin, Alex and to the whole team!
Read about the latest circuit tools for studying neuromodulator & neuropeptide signaling in vivo! We describe the use of neurochemical sensors, actuators, and probes in our lab’s first Review Science Magazine tinyurl.com/4mcfb24w Congrats Jessie Muir & Maribel Anguiano!
We are hiring in systems and behavioral neuroscience! Come join us Johns Hopkins University which is investing big time in the mind and brain. PBS department is awesome - wide breadth of topics, amazing colleagues. We are part of broader neuro ecosystem including OneNeuro Initiative Kavli NDI Hopkins
