Happy client. Lewisham Council amend planning conditions hours before the start of tonight's Planning Committee meeting. Agreed minor amendments to planning conditions sufficient to protect residential amenity. Objection withdrawn and night off. Result.

If following the out-of-town proposals at Crescent Link read the DCSDC commissioned review of the applicant's RIA. Conclusions are blunt. Unacceptable in retail planning terms. Will result in "under trading" elsewhere with impact on protected centres more significant than stated.

Concerning rise in speculative applications for large car dependant, social housing sites in the countryside in DCSDC. We badly need more social housing but in better connected, sustainable locations. Focus on brownfield sites close to schools, amenities and local centres.
