There was a time when I was quietly proud to be a member of the 1000 lbs club. A few life events happened. It felt great to recently get back into power lifting. Today was the day. Bench Press 245 Squat 340 Deadlift 415 10 reps, 3 sets per

I keep seeing articles from around the world arguing to eliminate math or exams b/c students struggle. But that “solution” is worse than the problem ❌. Fix the root cause—improve math teaching early on so students are set up for success. We need MORE math people, not fewer!

Lester B. Pearson thought he would be Canada's last unilingual prime minister; but today we have a governor-general and a prime minister who don't speak French at the same time. But I do appreciate that it's hard to learn French when you live in New York.

The man does not like to be challenged, but that is a key part of the job whether it is his own cabinet, the opposition or the media. This ain’t the job for Mark.

Cognitive offloading (using scrap paper) doesn't just help students remember more, it helps them think more clearly, especially when tasks involve several steps. Study finds giving students the chance to offload information improves their maths problem-solving especially when

Norman Borlaug used genetics, data, and determination to fight hunger. We now have a new tool: Artificial Intelligence. AI is helping scientists continue the mission Borlaug started. The Green Revolution isn’t over. It’s evolving with smarter tools.

Glad to see this from my friends at The Hub. I also call on all media organizations to reveal what they receive from government transfers. To answer their question, The Line received
zero. We have never accepted government subsidies and we won’t.

Surprised to see some journalism colleagues shrug about plagiarism (whether merited in Carney's case or not). If any of us do it, and are found out, we're fired and unlikely to work in journalism ever again. Academia is the same. It's a big deal. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:

It’s a packed room for the ChemBio Club’s Annual Faculty Roast. Looking forward to watching my friends laugh and squirm. They’ve started early on Dr. Bruno Cinel.

Took the family to go see the Minecraft movie. I haven’t experienced such an involved audience since I saw the Star Wars reboot in 1997. It was a lot of fun with the whole theatre shouting lines with the cast, singing with the film, and clapping every few minutes.

Oh look, the researchers found that the optimal success rate is 85 percent and discuss how this supports other frameworks like Zone of Proximal Learning and Desirable Difficulty frameworks in education.

You need to be very concerned about Bill C8. It allows MĂ©lanie Joly to kick anyone off the internet with no trial, no warrant. Worse, you won’t be allowed to say you’ve been kicked off. This is the Emergency Measures Act on steroids, only permanent and secret.

The best thing to do with excess weapons plutonium is obviously to convert it to electricity in nuclear reactors. Plutonium is a better fuel than HALEU. If it helps, think of the nuclear reactors as Mount Doom, and the plutonium as the one ring. The only way to destroy it is in

Everyone talks about the energy transition. But few dare say the obvious: If your grid isn’t low-carbon 24/7, You haven’t transitioned. It’s not about feelings. It’s about emissions. It’s easy to look green at noon. Solar is shining. Wind is blowing. You post a nice graph on

To celebrate Space Week UCF, my daughter stayed up to watch the SpaceX launch. First we saw the launch on the live stream and then moments later in the sky. Fantastic! Only issue? She thought it was a one way trip. Elon Musk
