Completed my first year of teaching!🥳what an experience it was..these kiddos will definitely hold a big place in my heart❤️

Today we labeled text features in our textbooks and worked in groups to discuss how text features enhance our understanding of the information given😁

Wrapped up our POV week by walking around the room answering task cards! They loved getting off their feet and walking around! ☺️

A1: Personal and Authentic is the different connections you make with people, each one is different and each one has a level of impact. We do this in class by listening to stories students share during our mini brain breaks. #HCISDReads

A2: Having one of the emotionally tough students crying on the last day of school and telling me he didn’t want to go to 6th grade because he was going to miss me, it gave me a purpose to continue doing what I love l. #HCISDReads

A3: When I think of school leaders I think of Patricia Bernal Bertha P. and Rebecca Rodriguez, they have always gone out of their way to make sure we’re doing good and are always a phone call or message away if we need them. #HCISDReads

A4: We always start off with a journal writing and I always take time to read through it before checking it off and commenting on it so they know I am interested in what they wrote and spark up a conversation. #HCISDReads

A1: My marathon is trying to identify student needs and finding activities and lessons that will help close the gaps after such a hard year. #HCISDReads

A2: My classroom is learner centered. I give them opportunities to work in partners and sometimes have students help those who are struggling. I always think that if they converse with one another, they’ll be able to understand better. #HCISDReads

A3: We use Seesaw tools to show off what we know in our classroom but I also have this area in and out of my room where I post some of their proud work. #HCISDReads

A4: We use Seesaw activities with videos, practice and independent work in a single activity, we use Quizziz, iStation and Education Galaxy during our intervention time to individualize instruction as much as we can.
