Hi Animal Behaviour twitter, I am currently doing an assignment about Careers. I am applying for a Masters in Animal Behaviour and from there hopefully a PhD on Animal cognition. I was wondering how others got into animal behaviour and what led to you working in animal cognition

Cute cuttlefish I saw snorkelling in Lanzarote showing off it’s colour changing! An interesting paper on them worth checking out is: Learned control of body patterning in cuttlefish Sepia officinalis (Cephalopoda). scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&…

Attended the The University of Manchester workshop on the application of the three Rs in zebrafish. Very interesting talks from all the speakers and was an amazing opportunity. Learning about the potential of cryogenics was particularly interesting. Thank you Zebrafish Rock! for advertising it!

Some cute little corys. Previously Corydoras trilineatus and now after the revision of Corydoradinae they are named Hoplisoma trilineatum. Please correct me if the names are wrong :)

I am currently enjoying reading ‘Can fish Count?’ by Brian Butterworth and highly recommended it! It is also cool to see Christian Agrillo ‘s work being talked about. His work originally got me interested in the topic and I would assume also inspired the title of the book!

Today is Taxonomist Appreciation Day! And we certainly do🐟🦈🐠 #Taxonomy is the branch of science concerned with classifying living organisms. Without it, talking about #Australia’s 5,000+ #fish species could get very confusing very quickly! Learn more: fishesofaustralia.net.au/Home/ClassList
