Amazing talk by Alexander Manzella, MD on the trends in HPB surgery before and during the pandemic. Super impressed that surgical oncologists were able to continue to provide necessary surgery to their patients while the rest of the world was on hold. Rutgers RWJMS Surgery #AHPBA2023

Congrats to Alexander Manzella, MD who presented our work American Association of Endocrine Surgeons on the association of the ACA with access to high volume surgeons for thyroidectomy for benign disease - despite ⬆️ access to care, medicaid patients are still likely to be operated on at lower volume centers. Congrats to Marin Kheng, MD MPH who presented our work American Association of Endocrine Surgeons examining incidence trends of thyroid cancer by socioeconomic status - while incidence stabilizing in high SES, low SES quintiles are catching up - sign of decreasing disparities in diagnosis of PTC?
