It really feels like the old life is gone now. The pre pandemic life. Husband, son and I continue in our efforts to avoid covid and nobody, nobody we personally know is doing the same. We are in a kind of holding zone waiting for sterilizing vaccines that may not come.

Local media reporting that COVID numbers are stabilizing. There is no indication of this. It hasn't been "stable" since early summer. Expect increases as a new variant makes inroads in the next several weeks.

IPAC Canada If you would advocate for mandatory masking all medical settings then there would be far less long Covid, far less disability and far less death but, you won't. You've allowed a proper protocol to be politicized. That's not safe for us.

The constant work of keeping yourself and your loved ones safe from Covid is astronomical. The heaviness of grief, and at times despair, can be overwhelming. I understand why most people don't do it. And if you are still doing it, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

In Ontario, last summer we had the awful wildfire smoke-induced air quality. Last winter I shovelled snow once. This summer southern Ontario has had emergency flooding 3x in 2 months. The climate crisis is a health crisis here and now, and we need meaningful action here and now.

I feel so lucky that I was in elementary school in the 80s and early 90s and we had no shooter drills because we didn't need them. I am sad that my daughter will have to learn them. What a change for the worse.
