Can we believe what we are hearing. They cannot tell us where the hydrotherapy pools in the community are and yet they have agreed it is OK to close service at UHL Leicester's Hospitals

Chair the meeting says '3 years at least' will be given to the trial. Births at St Mary's dropped following the consultation - the propagation of a risk narrative during the consultation?

What money is available to invest in this trial and where will the midwife led unit be located? The public have been told recently that no decision has been made about location; the consultation documentation suggested no finances were available to invest in it.

The consultation on maternity services was a mess - lots of confusion about what was involved, new and contradictory information given at different meetings. Impression that a possible trial at the General for free-standing midwifery unit was a half-hearted offer.

Leicester/shire & Rutland NHS plans for hospital beds remain highly unrealistic - they are now planning to 2032 (better than 2024) but continue to claim high levels of bed efficiencies are possible. Even NHS leads cannot identify where all of these efficiencies will come from.

Particularly poignant letter in the Leicester Mercury given today's decision by Leicester NHS bosses to simply go ahead and ignore the concerns of the people they were supposed to be consulting. Very damaging for democracy!

And yet another letter in today's Leicester Mercury. Very on point. Local NHS bosses have a history of trying to keep the public in the dark.

Virgin Care have been given a seat on a local Integrated Care System. Private health firms should be barred from designing local health care provision. We want a public NHS. RT to get the message out.

Oakham Medical Practice This old chestnut keeps on doing the rounds, a lazy case of patient blaming. 98% attendance is extraordinarily successful, Oakham Medical Practice and particularly by retweeting Healthwatch Rutland, as the patient champion, do themselves a disservice by this lazy patient blaming.

Government is good at telling carers what to do but not so good at supporting them through proper funding of social care and decent pay reflecting the real value of their work. Volunteers may be required in staffing shortfall at English care homes theguardian.com/society/2021/a…

£0.54m, this is based on £30 per GP appointment. But General practice is not funded on a fee per appointment basis but per capita based on the number of registered patients. Salary costs and overheads don’t change because some appointments are cancelled.

Patient Panel Leics (@lmpatientpanel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

GP surgeries know that a small proportion of appointments will be missed so they overbook accordingly and GPs have enough experience that they can do this pretty accurately.
