Proud to be a co-founder of an organization that values everyone’s humanity. I hope that many teachers at schools can say the same.

A guest on Dan Patrick Show just mentioned learning styles. Listeners, learning styles ARE MYTHS. They could be the biggest and most harmful myth in all of education.

These are very helpful! I understand why round robin reading can feel right or seem like a good practice… but it really limits a student’s interaction with text. These alternatives boost interaction and participation.

I think that this is such an important consideration. For some, it might seem unachievable. But there are ways to get there. I proudly know principals, APs, and Coaches who know this. ❤️

My 4YO & I were in a cab. He was telling me all the things he knows about the stop lights, signals…the Hampire State Building 😂. We shifted to trees… how roots hold the trees, trunks, etc. Then, he whispers to me… “knowledge.” Thx 3k for building his knowledge & curiosity!

Got to lead a morning back to school session with WCSDEmpowers Thoughtful K-2 teachers. Looking back and looking ahead, sweating the small stuff in phonics routines, and principles of effective writing instruction. Looking forward to a great year of ongoing growth. 🌈☀️

Pre K Gradual release for the win,—from my 4YO. Me: “What’s a lesson?” My Son: “Ms. O shows us. Then we all do it. Then she walks all around. Then she says “You are welcome to do this aaaaaanytime.””

Kids need to see the world in books,. Full stop. Including stories of present day immigrants—so that they can have narratives that can counter the lies shared by some in amplified places. These stories are important no matter where you live and who you are.
