Today I signed a bipartisan bill that establishes the Lehigh Portland Trails in Allen Co. as Kansas' 28th state park. It also grants disabled veterans with permanent hunting and fishing licenses' for free.

Today, I joined Lt. Governor David Toland Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks and Thrive Allen County in Iola to ceremonially sign House Bill 2039, recognizing Lehigh Portland as an official state park. There's no doubt this park will boost the local economy and create yet another space for Kansans to spend time in nature.

Proud of the journey that led to this newest destination for Kansans and visitors alike. Governor Laura Kelly is laser-focused on tourism, and the addition of the Lehigh Portland State Park will both showcase Kansas' beauty and drive the economy forward.

We dropped off physical copies of the testimony for the #ksleg House hearing on Medicaid expansion this morning. Each of these binders held about 425 pieces of testimony in favor of #MedicaidExpansion! #ExpandKanCare

By not voting on Medicaid expansion #ksleg failed to do their job this session. They left town without acting to protect rural hospitals & failed to bring down healthcare costs for Kansans.   Thanks to a Senate motion, Senators will vote on Medicaid expansion when they reconvene

The Love, Kansas campaign is about making the case to the Kansans who have left to come back home, and for new potential residents to consider putting down roots in the Sunflower State. We think the time to do that is now.
