My heart aches hearing about the death of Latjor Tuel, a Calgary man with mental health issues, who was shot to death by police. >70% of those who are killed in police interactions suffer from mental health & substance use problems. We must find a better way. RIP Latjor Tuel 💔

It's hard to reconcile the fact that police can deescalate and have zero casualties during an occupation of a city, with some wanting to overthrow the government but a Black man having a mental health crisis is too much. Latjor Tuel's death is a tragedy we've sadly normalized.
