Happy Independence Day from Memphis Heritage! Many Memphians celebrated America’s bicentennial at the Mid-South Fairgrounds and the opening ceremonies of Libertyland Amusement Park.

As this park map from 1978 shows, there really was something for everyone at Libertyland!

Happy belated #NationalCarouselDay! From opening at the Fairgrounds Amusement Park in 1923 to reopening at its new home inside the Children's Museum of Memphis in 2017, Libertyland's Grand Carousel has lived an exciting life!

Would you have ridden the Revolution like this?! In 1983, as part of a "That's Incredible" TV episode, one of the Revolution's cars was retrofitted to allow daredevil Dave Cox to “ski” through the track. (Photos courtesy of Kreig Taylor.)
