The new iOS APIs seem to be much better documented than in previous years where there was often "No overview available". Thanks for the effort! The "New Technologies WWDC22" docs which highlight new frameworks and APIs are great, too.

If you’re a developer (or iPadOS user!) who is excited about the new customisable toolbars in iPadOS 16 but you have concerns about where in the UI to place actions that are used less frequently, then please duplicate my feedback #WWDC22 github.com/simonbs/AppleF…

📝 Recently, we rewrote part of our Catalog example project in SwiftUI to see how far we could go and where it would bring us. In this post, we share the challenges we faced and the lessons we learned from this project. pspdfkit.com/blog/2022/rewr…

Notice how the action labeled ‘3’ is shown in the ‘…’ menu two times when the action is added to the toolbar but it’s too narrow for the action to fit into the toolbar. UIKit will overflow it into the ‘…’ causing it to be displayed twice. That’s bad and I want to avoid it.

Is there really no way in SwiftUI to make a standard system Done button (similar to UIBarButtonItem.SystemItem.done) or can I just not find it? Do I have to localize Done and Cancel buttons myself when using SwiftUI?

Looks like widgets continue to not have access to any privacy protected data sources in 16.1 Beta 2 (photos, calendar, reminders …). I really hope this gets fixed soon, starting to get a fair few complaints from folks on the beta that all their widgets are busted. FB11532814

The new Find interaction in iOS 16 was hell to implement well across a variety of keyboard/device configurations. There are still some edge cases that aren't handled. More about that here: x.com/chockenberry/s…

With Apple’s recent changes to ads on the App Store, your product pages may now show ads for gambling apps. One of my product pages just did that 😞

Is it just me or does overriding the status bar time to 9:41 (using xcrun simctl...) in iOS 16.1 simulators not work with Xcode 14.1?
