PUMPED to welcome Matt Bartkowski as a part time co host. Matt played 276 regular season and playoff NHL games as well as 530 AHL games. He was recently hired as a Sportsnet Pittsburgh analyst for the Penguins. Matt will bring a wealth of hockey knowledge and stories!

I still think the Oil make the playoffs, but they need a complete overhaul somehow between now and trade deadline of the bottom half of their lineup. So many guys in their bottom 6 that aren’t every day NHLers and either play Holloway or send to the A before he has 0 confidence.

As for the flames, Kadri has been much better as of late, but I just don’t think they have the guns to get on a roll like they will need to in order to make playoffs. Between now and December they either have to get hot or I would trade all their Ufas by the trade deadline.

The positive for both the Oilers and Flames? Almost every team in the West is either around 500 or below. None of the teams outside Knights,Avs and stars are really that elite to me. If you rattle off 3-5 wins in a row or have a good 10 game stretch you are right back in it.

What’s the worst contract in the NHL right now?

I really think if San Jose allows Addison to have the green light offensively he can be a 60+ point dman in the future. Probably not right now because San Jose is so bleak offensively but I still think there’s a lot of untapped potential there offensively.
