Congratulations to our Continence Team, who have won the 2024 Bladder & Bowel UK Clinical Excellence award for Continence Care. Judges were impressed with the team’s project to improve patient safety by introducing the Purewick, an external catheter for female patients.

This week we opened our new dialysis unit in South Wigston to treat people with kidney disease. The new purpose-built Leicester South Dialysis Unit has 35 dialysis stations with capacity to increase to 49 stations as demand rises and is fitted out with the latest technology.

The Chemotherapy Suite received a generous £3800 donation from former patient, Michelle Hall and her husband, David. After completing her treatment and being cancer-free for a year, Michelle wanted to give back by funding a proper coffee machine. The team are extremely grateful!

Colleagues at Leicester Children’s Hospital raised funds for a memorial bench in honour of nurse Adrian 'AD' Peel, who recently passed away. Members of AD's family attended the unveiling, including Simon Peel, who said: "It was comforting to see that he is so fondly remembered."
