Did you know that February is #BlackHistoryMonth? Started in the United States in 1926, Black History Month is an annual observance that recognises and honours the contributions and achievements of the country's Black populations and their role in US history.

While some progress has been made towards a more equal society, structural racism has impacted African Americans in the United States since before the country’s founding. Political developments in the 21st century have shown that deep divides remain.

To bridge our divides, renowned political scientist and Cahoot Learning's subject matter expert Dr. Terri Givens tgivens64 calls for ‘radical empathy’ – moving beyond an understanding of others’ lives and pain to understand the origins of our biases.
