Tomorrow is one year since we lost my wonderful brother-in-law Jonny to cancer. I’ll be participating in a charity walk for Cancer Research UK later this week - if you can, help me continue his fight on behalf of those still facing this terrible illness. fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/lauras-gi…

You know you’re a real anatomist when while walking to work in central London you stumble upon a dead woodcock and bring it into the office. Poor thing was the victim of a window strike but as I donated to Ryan Felice lab it will hopefully contribute to science.

Very pleased that our paper with Liz Martin-Silverstone and Emily Rayfield on the early tetrapod Eoherpeton is out! We used CT scanning to reconstruct the skull in 3D and found some neat new features, including an enlarged pterygoid flange suggesting changes in the jaw musculature!
