Proud to be co-author on a fantastic paper lead by Francesco Carrara (ETH Zurich) and Anupam Sengupta (University of Luxembourg). If you are interested in the effects of ocean turbulence on microalgae go check it out: pnas.org/content/118/5/…

We deposited this preprint showing that the plastid-lacking Picozoa, from the uncultured majority of eukaryotic microbes, are related to red algae. We discuss the implications of this finding for plastid origin. Picozoa are archaeplastids without plastid biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

My colleague Rachel Foster and I want to share this amazing video archive for teaching aquatic microbial ecology. It features great scientists and their research with very pedagogic explanations. I hope you find it useful! youtube.com/watch?v=htLiaa… DEEP at Stockholm University Please RT

Wrote this. A great exercise to try to summarise advances on #protists diversity and ecology realised by #metabarcoding. Thanks Current Biology for inviting us to contribute to this special issue on biodiversity, a timely publication UN Biodiversity #COP15 cell.com/current-biolog…

Excited to share our latest research, now published in the ISME J nature.com/articles/s4139… 'Photophysiological response of Symbiodiniaceae single cells to temperature stress' This work would not have been possible without Linhong Xiao , Fabien Burki , Maria Tenje and many others

So great to see SciLifeLab moving towards a stronger anchor in evolution, ecology, and more. And especially important to recognise that most life is microbial, including eukaryotes. Exciting!

What a great method and paper! Huge congrats!!!! Happy to have Cesar O. Pacherres onboard MicroEcology Lab to do more #sensPIV on corals etc and to explore further applications and developments with the inventors Soeren Ahmerkamp @klaus_koren Lars Behrendt

Stoked to see this work published in final format, most importantly because this is a large chunk of Mahwash Jamy PhD who was my first student. She has developed and carried out this project like a rock star. nature.com/articles/s4155…
