The Christopher Reeve documentary SUPER/MAN drops this week and, while I was surprised by how much I liked it, I went long on what it doesn't say about Hollywood ableism and how disabled is "too" disabled. Subscribe now! tinyurl.com/5dffnuu4

“Take a Polaroid outside the Criterion non-accessible Mobile Closet” just doesn’t have the same ring to it, I know. Kinda shocked they didn’t have ANY alternative.

Little brother is visiting and told me today he’s never seen BACK TO THE FUTURE. I don’t particularly adore BTTF but I can’t help but feel this is a massive problem for him.

Chatted with Aaron Schimberg, Adam Pearson and Sebastian Stan about the tropes A DIFFERENT MAN upends in my Salon (!) debut! Give it a read and go see A DIFFERENT MAN! salon.com/2024/09/21/a-d…

Decided to use my powers of adulting to order a bunch of different cake slices via Grubhub and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

Haven’t seen A Different Man yet, but if you loved it and want to see more Adam Pearson, allow me to highly recommend Chained for Life from Fantastic Fest 2018, I think you can stream it on Tubi or Kanopy

Thunderbolts featuring “Where is My Mind?” in its trailer is certainly a choice … cuz it’s never been used in any iconic sort of way before.

Want to visit the Criterion Mobile Closet? You can't if you use a wheelchair. I decided to vent my frustration and use it to explore how separate, lesser experiences are often what disabled people get. tinyurl.com/5n6uwueh

This is infuriating. Being a disabled film fan and critic can be so disheartening. Disabled folks deserve better access!

"disabled people are so often told they should be grateful they can access these spaces at all." This is so true. It applies to film festivals, events, etc. that refuse to offer virtual options, which should have been norm a long time ago. And we have to advocate for ourselves.
