Today is Max Planck's birthday, 1858. In 1900 he started the quantum revolution which continues to this day. He did not however believe at the time that quantisation was real. Today it is an accepted fact.

Ludwig Boltzmann born today in 1844. Originator of statistical mechanics a pillar of quantum mechanics, his constant k being named in his honour by Max Planck. His student, Arrhenius, predicted in 1896 that doubling CO2 would raise world temperature by 5 C°. Almost there!

There is hypothesis in some areas, it is deeply worrying and it is shared across Wales and being fed back by all local authorities. Seen on the BBC today, maybe this just a "theoretical disease"? Clearly inedible!

NSF has cut all funding immediately to arguably the world's best free online interactive science and maths simulator in the world. Why? All that effort at risk of simply disappearing. Such a petty cut of just $1.5 m.
