We also talked about housing legislation, my top priority as Speaker. Happy to report that we're making progress & I'm very pleased that my hometown of Warwick is leading the way statewide for new construction, with an estimated 1,000 permits. Total permits are up 27% statewide.

In order to ensure that we have appropriate healthcare staffing to care for all RIers, we must put programs in place to train our future workforce. The state budget we recently passed makes significant investments to address RI's health and human services workforce challenges.
