First stop: Sinkhole Plain. Learning where the water drains to create the caves and karst system of central Kentucky. Also looking at the relationship between the Pennyroyal Plateau and the Chester Upland. Crawford Hydrology Laboratory WKU - CHNGES

Fourth and final stop for the day: Mammoth Cave! Students walked along the River Styx/Historic Tour Routes to learn about the hydrogeology of Mammoth Cave. This allowed students to tie together the surface and subsurface features they have learned so far.

Successful trip to Hidden River Cave to learn about groundwater pollution and the environmental success story of the Hidden River Cave basin. We also learned about the work done by the Support ACCA and their involvement with the Mammoth Cave region.
